Just as versatile as a traditional chef’s knife, the Santoku Knife is also known as a Japanese chef’s knife. The Pro Series 7 Inch Kullens Santoku, has a thin taper for maximum precision when slicing vegetables, fish and meat. The kullens are the semi-circular hollows on either side of the blade which reduce adhesion and ease the cutting and separation of meats, cheese and vegetables. The stamped blade and handle are compatible in width and weight, resulting in a well-balanced knife.

     Features

Bought this to share at work. Very small restaurant. My co-workers love it; easy chopping.

    Have been using a santoku

Have been using a santoku knife for at least 40 years. This is basically the Japanese version of a chefs knife. The style is quite versatile. The blade has a nice curve for working with fruit and vegetables. You can get a nice mince if you want. This knife is a bit lighter and the blade a bit thinner than it looks on the site. The balance is blade heavy. The handle is comfortable.

    My recent experience with messermeister

My recent experience with messermeister was less than good. I have purchased their knives from retailers. This was the first time ordering from the web site. The order was placed on a Wednesday and charged to my CC on Thursday. 5 days later I contacted the company asking for an update, I was told that the tracking info would be available the next day. Didn’t happen. Two more contacts with the company, the product was finally shipped. That was 10 days from the charges to my CC. 12 days from order placement.

The knife is OK, it will work good for the intended purpose. It is a light weight knife, with a blade heavy balance. They will make you work just a bit more than a heavier knife. The blade is a bit thinner than I had expected. The handle is comfortable, but could use a bit more weight there. Might give it a better balance. The materials seem to be of good quality and the manufacturing seems to be good. Only time will tell on that. It was sharp from the package, just needed a polishing hone to get a good edge on it. These are industrial knives, they are not going to last for years. At this price, that’s fine.
