I travel a lot for work and tend to stay in hotels with mini kitchenettes. The knives at these hotels aren’t good and it used to be a pain packing the knives I needed. These are such a breeze! The quality is fantastic and it folds up to a perfect size I can safely tuck it in my cooking gear without worrying about the blade cover coming off and slicing my hand. Also cleans up nice and easy. I’m going to have to invest in the other adventure knives at some point real soon here.
It's a Christmas present to my nephew who is a chef so I can't send you a photo yet.
Great compact system for camping and tv.
The Messermeister Adventure Chef's Knife is one of the very few of its kind, a folding Chef's knife. And for this fact (few have attempted a good folding chefs knife, I give it 4 stars). I like the curved blade which supports a solid rocking motion for chopping, the width of the blade does well with smashing garlic etc. The blade holds it's sharpness well and the handle material (distressed linen) is sturdy, with grip and tooth even when wet. The handle is much longer than I thought it would be, this pushes the balance point back farther than I would like, though this isn't meant to be a high volume production knife, but if I were iterating on the design I would try to work this through. The blade lock seems solid and shouldn't fail with normal use. The overall knife doesn't feel as heafty/solid as I would like, but I am sure a backpacker will appreciate weight (which is less than 255 g, but this is heavier than my traditional 6 inch chefs knife which comes in at 185g) The blade swings open smoothly with no side to side play. This is made and assembled in China. This would earn a perfect score if the balance was better, the handle/blade ratio was changed slightly (more blade less handle) But I am overjoyed owning a quality folding Chef's knife! (the picture shows a traditional chef's knife for comparison and demonstrates the balance point of both knives. )
This company has never let me down
